Acting for gender equality
Gender equality in the workplace has been declared a national priority, and it requires the mobilization of everyone. The Ministry of Labor has been guiding discussions since May 2018 to develop a methodology that will enable all companies with more than 50 employees to transition from an obligation of means to an obligation of results in terms of gender equality within three years.
On March 1, 2020, a gender equality index was established for legal entities with more than 50 employees. The index consists of four indicators and allows companies with fewer than 250 employees to measure their level of gender equality in the workplace. The minimum expected score is 75/100.
All companies with at least 50 employees are required to calculate and publish their Gender Equality Index each year by March 1st.
